  1. Background:

The Institute of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (IGH) is a scientific and technological organization that specializes in research and intensive training on gastroenterology and hepatology (website: The Institute was established in Vietnam in May 2018 with the main functions:

  • To conduct research and develop a community health management and care system on
  • gastrointestinal (GI) and hepatobiliary diseases;
  • To consult and transfer research results for diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal and
  • hepatobiliary diseases; and to provide training to health workers in the field;
  • To cooperate with domestic and overseas organizations to conduct the activities of the Institute.

So far, the Institute has been implementing more than 20 studies focusing on functional evaluation of

the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract, artificial intelligence in gastroenterology, GI infections

(Helicobacter pylori infection, fungal esophagitis), evaluating the effectiveness of advanced endoscopy

techniques in early diagnosis of GI cancer, using flexible endoscopy to treat hemorrhoids, and assessing

liver fibrosis by non-invasive methods.

Besides, IGH is the first GI and hepatology institute obtaining the approval for continuous medical

education (CME) by the Vietnam’s Ministry of Health and has started education activities for health

workers throughout Vietnam.

We are looking for 02 (two) research assistants working fulltime at IGH.

  • Job Location: Institute of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, level 10, tower VCCI, 9 Dao Duy Anh street,
  • Dong Da, Hanoi.
  • Working time: 48 hours/week, from Monday to Saturday.
  • Overall responsibilities: Research assistants will support, coordinate the studies and report directly to
  • the Research Supervisor and Head of Research and Education. This position will also be responsible for
  • providing support in administration and finance management to the research and project teams.

II. Specific Responsibilities:

1. Conducting research at IGH: literature review, supporting in writing protocols and drafting other

research materials, data collection, data entry, and data cleaning.

2. Supporting researchers in data analysis and writing reports.

3. Supporting the administrative and financial tasks in research and collaborating projects with

domestic and foreign organizations.

4. Translating and developing English and Vietnamese documents.

5. Secretarial/administrative and logistic tasks.

6. Other tasks as required.

III. Requirements:

  • Experience in research or developmental projects;
  • University degree, degree in health-related fields (medicine, pharmacy, public health, etc.).
  • Required Qualifications:
  • Good organization skills;
  • Microsoft office (high proficiency);
  • Searching on the Internet;
  • Fluent in reading English;
  • Highly responsible, organized person with attention to details;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Able to work both independently and in team;
  • Able to work under pressure and keep up with deadlines;
  • Interested in research in medicine.


  • Previous experience with research and working with international organizations and/or NGOs is
  • preferred
  • Can use MS Office for work and project management;
  • Searching for medical literature review;
  • Fluent in speaking and writing English.


  • Contracted salary: Negotiated (depending on actual experience and education).
  • 13th month salary (annual bonus) and lunch providing.
  • Annual leave 12 days/year.
  • Vietnam Social & Health insurance, Sick leave, Personal leave, Maternity leave and National holidays will be based on the Vietnam’s Labor Law.
