Meeting on the collaborative plan between USTH and Bosch Global Software Technologies Company Limited

On May 12nd, 2022, University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) had a meeting with representatives of Bosch Global Software Technologies Company Limited on the collaborative plan in the coming time.
Participating in the meeting, on USTH's side, were Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest, Principal Rector, Dr. Luc Le Calvez, Director of Research, Innovation and Technology Transfer, Assoc. Prof. Tran Dinh Phong, Co-Director of Research, Innovation, and Technology Transfer, Dr. Tran Giang Son, Deputy Director of Department of Information and Communication Technology, Dr. Duong Viet Anh, Lecturer of Department of Energy, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Nga, Head of Student Affair Department, Ms. Nguyen Quynh Mai, Head of Organization Personnel Department, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Nhi, International Cooperation Department Officer, on Bosch Global Software Technologies Company Limited’s side, there were Mr. Dattatreya Gaur, COO, Mr. Sathyanarayana T K, Head of Operations, Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Hang, Human Resource Manager, Ms. Nguyen Hai Ly, Human Resource Business Partner, Mr. Tran Hieu, Engineering Manager, Mr. Trinh Thanh Hai, Engineering Manager, Ms. Tran Nhu Phung - Senior Talent Acquisition Executive.

Beginning the meeting, there were presentations to introduce USTH and Bosch Group. USTH is a Vietnamese public university with the mission to provide high quality human resources in Science and Technology, and to become an excellent research-oriented university in Vietnam. The university is strongly supported by the French Government through a Consortium of more than 30 universities and research institutions in France. As USTH aims at becoming an international university, it is essential for USTH to build up strong relationships with national and international universities, institutions and business in Vietnam and worldwide.
As one of the leading companies in software technology development, Bosch Global Software Technologies Company Limited currently has more than 2,600 highly qualified engineers developing high-tech products and industrial information technology applications in automotive technology, industrial technology and consumer goods for businesses globally, including in East Asia and Southeast Asia.

With the desire to continue to contribute to the industrial revolution 4.0, the company is researching to retrain and improve skills for human resources to carry out high complexity projects. The company has been actively recruiting young talents in Vietnam, especially the excellent new graduates from leading universities in the fields of: Data management and artificial intelligence technology analysis (AI / ML), cloud technology, UX - user experience, network security, adaptive platform AUTOSAR / VRTE - autonomous driving, and new technologies of the future.

In addition, Dr. Tran Giang Son, Deputy Director of Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Dr. Duong Viet Anh, Lecturer of Department of Energy, introduced two departments’ training programs and strengths of their students. USTH students not only have academic knowledge and skills but also have good English skills and are high valued by many companies. Especially, ICT and Energy students can work in various positions in many areas with good salaries after graduation.

Regarding the cooperation plan with USTH, Bosch Global Software Technologies Company Limited would like to bring fresh graduates to their ecosystem, train them and make them believe that Bosch is the company that they want to stay forever. Bosch Global Software Technologies Company Limited sees the gap between training in classes and working after graduation; therefore, they want to save time and help students get ready to work by offering training courses in a real working environment, especially in information technology and energy. Furthermore, the company suggested that they can sponsor short-term scholarships for USTH students and organize some competitions in order to have opportunities to reach talents from the university. Bosch Global Software Technologies Company Limited also would like to be a partner of USTH in internship cooperation. 

On behalf of USTH, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest, Principal Rector, agreed with Bosch about the cooperation in training programs, internship and other activities. Professor also suggested that Bosch can send experienced officers to USTH to teach in some classes or workshops, and the company can invest in USTH’s laboratories and research equipment. In addition, USTH and Bosch can do joint research to make use of each other’s strengths. 

At the end of the meeting, representatives of USTH and Bosch Global Software Technologies Company Limited both agreed to the initial cooperation suggestions and expressed their desire to build and develop a close long-term collaborative relationship and expect the success of future projects. They both look forward to upcoming meetings to discuss further more and hope to sign the Memorandum of Understanding soon.
