Representatives of USTH at the ceremony were Prof. Patrick Boiron – Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh – Vice Rector, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Nga – Student Affairs Officer and ten awardees.

The Vallet Scholarship Fund was established in 2001 by Professor Odon Vallet from France's Sorbonne University, in order to support the science and education activities of the Rencontres du Vietnam organisation.

Not only does the scholarship recognize efforts and academic achievement of students at USTH and across Vietnam, but it is also a great motivation for them to continue their passion for science and spirit of studiousness. Additionally, it is a precious financial aid, helping disadvantaged students access to better study conditions.
