  1. Introduction

University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH), also – called “Vietnam-France University”, is an unique International Standard Public University in Hanoi established in 2009 under the Intergovernmental Agreement between Vietnam and France signed on November, 12th 2009, following the decision number 2067/QĐ-TTg on December, 9th 2009 made by the Prime Minister. The PLMCC (Product Lifecycle Competency Centre) under USTH is a state of the art training centre that delivers basic to advanced level trainings on Dassault Systèmes PLM tools (Product Lifecycle Management). Dassault Systèmes is the leading company in PLM area in the world market. PLMCC provides dedicated training and course material on PLM concepts to prepare customers for virtual product development, covering 3D CAD, CAM, Simulation and virtual production processes in a collaborative way. All industrial areas are covered, including aeronautics, automotive, consumer goods and manufacturing. PLMCC is member of a world network with many partnerships with other institutions. In 2018, USTH established a FabLab, an innovative space in order to enhance USTH training activities, small scale technology transfer processes, related softskills and internships for students at all level and all disciplines, and particularly emphasizing entrepreunerships skills of USTH students. Fablab will be equipped with modern mechanical, electrical, electronic and IT equipment such as: 3D Printer, CNC machine, Laser cutter machine, 3D Scaner, Soldering stations, Oscilloscopes,... Where all the students in the USTH, the outside students, people who love innovation, startups, industrial company.. can come to study, practice, share and collaborate in an intership, projects or producs. The Fablab members will use official PLM software (CATIA, DELMIA, SIMULIA, ENOVIA) in PLMCC for Design and Simulation. Then they will make prototype with all the tools and equipment of Fablab. 

      2. Objectives of the assignment 

 Application Engineer to execute and manage the tasks and activities related to PLMCC and Fablab. This staff will be positioned as a member of PLMCC as well as Community Manager for USTH FabLab.

     3. Scope of Work

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to the followings:
- Contributing to the training programs CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM managed by PLMCC
- Contributing to other activities of PLMCC connected with industry linkages, follow up of students internships
- Taking care of practical functioning of the equipments of FabLab
- Helping students to use FabLab facilities for practical internships or projects
- Contributing to the academic involvement of FabLab with all training and research departments of USTH
- Contributing to FabLab Community entrepreneurships atmosphere at USTH
- Contributing to the global strategy of USTH regarding topics such as: training, research, innovation and technology transfer.
- Performing others tasks assigned or required by the Heads of FabLab, PLMCC and the Rectorate Board.

    4. Qualifications, skill and experience requirements

- Having at least the Engineer or Bachelor degree and have experience in the fields of mechatronics, electronic or automation.
- Have experience working with embedded systems.
- Strong knowledge of CAD / CAM / CAE / PLM software such as: CATIA, Solid Works, NX,…. and numerical simulation soft wares such as: Simulink, Matlab, Labview, Modelica,…etc. will be appreciated
- Teaching and R&D experiences will be appreciated.
- Fluency in English is appreciated.
