Admission Criteria


  • For students graduated under the curriculum of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training:

 

Wave 1, Wave 2, Wave 3      

Wave 4 and according to

the MOET’s system

Having average academic results of 5 subjects: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Informatics at Grade 11, and 12 must reach at least 6.5/10 or higher

High school graduating

Attending National Exam ** with a selection of 3 subjects among these 5 subjects as follows: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English with results equal to or higher than the benchmarks of USTH

Pass admission interview organized by USTH***

  • For students graduated abroad or studied international programs in Vietnam

The certificate and transcript of the international program must have at least 2 subjects in the field of natural sciences in accordance with the requirements of the registered field of study. The academic results should have at least 2 modules above C (equivalent to 65%)

Pass admission interview organized by USTH***

 

Remarks:

*Students may choose English or Vietnamese for interview. The interview aims to evaluate his/her English, academic ability and motivation. After the interview, jury will suggest students’ suitable programs: 3 -year program or intensive English course (if any)

**For applicants graduated in from 2015 to 2020: besides the condition (1) and (3), they must ensure the attendance in national exam with a selection of 3 subjects among these 5 subjects as follows: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with results equal to or higher than the benchmarks USTH in that year.

For applicants graduated before 2015: besides the condition (1) and (3), they must ensure the attendance in national University Entrance exam in blocks A, A1, and B with results equal to or higher than the benchmarks of USTH in that year.

***After enrollment, matriculated candidate will take an English test which decides their suitable placement.

****For students who graduated abroad, there are many differences in the education system and/or grading system as compared to the Vietnamese system, students are required to submit a document in Vietnamese or English, issued or certified by competent authority explaining the education system or grading system. Candidate may be asked to participate in a competency assessment exam by the Admission Committee.
