Nanomaterials are found in the center of contemporary technological evolution that has direct impacts to daily life of human being. This 2-years master program of Advanced Materials Science and Nanotechnology at University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (VIETNAM FRANCE UNIVERSITY) is designed with aims to provide depth knowledge (both academia and practical knowledge) to students about all aspects of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Two tracks are currently provided, namely Nanophysics and Nanochemistry. A third track with engineering and industrial application orientation will be proposed in the next academic year (2016-2017).
With proposed courses ranging from foundation of materials to current trenches in research & development of advanced functional materials together with courses dealing with management, production quality control etc, students
are trained to be ready for next step of their academic career (PhD preparation) or for a position in industry (technical assistant or Research & Development engineer). Indeed, most of our master students received PhD scholarship from reputed institutions in France, USA or other western countries right after their graduation.
As an international standard program, all of our courses are provided in English. That is because we believe professional working in English will be a huge advantage for our students in the contemporary international competition, especially when the ASEAN Economic Community is fully established end of 2015.
Students are enrolled both at the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (VIETNAM FRANCE UNIVERSITY) and at a French partner university. A six (6) months internship in France will be offered to students in the second year (Master 2). Graduated students will be awarded a double-degree from French university and from University of Science and Technology of Hanoi. 2. Partners
This master program of Advanced Materials Science and Nanotechnology is proposed and ensured by French partners within the FR USTH consortium (http://www.consortium-usth.org/
). The coordinator of this program is University of Paris 11, home of several Nobel laureates and Field medals (so including Prof. Ngo Bao Chau). Other key partners include University of Paris 7 Diderot, University of Paris 13, Le Mans University, etc.
In Hanoi, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and Vietnam National University are strategic partners who offer opportunities for short internships (three (3) months of the first years) to students of the programs. 3. Lecturers and Staffs
Master courses are provided by experienced professors coming from French universities within the FR USTH consortium and distinguished professors from VAST (please refer attached program for details). 4. Program
The first year curriculum includes common courses for Nanophysic and Nanochem tracks (as well as the upcoming Engineering track). These courses are organized into three blocks namely management sciences, foundation of materials, and material characterization & evaluation.
