PARABOLIC SOLAR OVEN

In Viet Nam, a large part of the cooking is done on the street or on the fields. Coal, wood or gas are the main resources for the cooking process. In these times of climate change, it would be wise to choose other sources of energies such as solar energy. Viet Nam is one of the countries that gain great benefit from the abundant sources of sunlight. The goal of this study is to design an oven (an appliance) using heat of sunlight to cook. The maximum cooking temperature should be around 350oC (using the sunlight data of Hanoi in 2005). This oven would have the ability to track the sun automatically during the whole day for energy optimization.

The work includes doing research on the already exist solar oven. After that, the PLMCC team have to decide which is the best design for the solar oven system based on the weather condition. At the end, the team can decide the size and material for all of the components.

2. DESIGN
The work includes design all the parts that relates to the parabolic solar oven system in CATIA v6 based on the research in the Analysis, for example the parabola, the fork, the pedestal…, then simulate them in different conditions. After that the PLMCC team have to take all of the parts and put them together to get the final product.
