USTH takes part in 11th Rencontres du Vietnam

The conference "XI RENCONTRES DU VIETNAM – COSMOLOGY: 50 years after CMB discovery" was held between 16-22 of August 2015 in Binh Dinh Province. The event welcomed professor George Smoot, an American cosmologist, Nobel laureate 2006 for his work that led to the discovery of the black body form and anisotropy of the cosmic microwave background radiation. Participants were scientists coming from well-known laboratories all over the world. In particular, USTH's Department of Space & Aeronautics Director, Yannick Giraud-Héraud, joined the conference as member of the scientific program committee, and Hoang Duc Thuong as participant.

Professor George Smoot also gave gifts to honor the IMO, AMO (International, Asia Mathematic Olympic), IPO, MPO (International, Asia Physics Olympic), ICO, ACO (International, Asia Chemistry Olympic) students who win medals for Vietnam in 2015, as well as Binh Dinh provincial excellent students.
