The workshop, which spans from Feb 22 to March 2, is part of USTH's strategy for capacity building.
The lecturer is Dr. Laurence Le Texier, who holds a PhD. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Experimental Pharmacology and Metabolism from the University Paris 5-René Descartes, and the International Industrial Studies Diploma “Patents” and “Trademarks & Industrial Designs" from CEIPI- University of Strasbourg and is a qualified European Patent Attorney.
She is the former director of the IP and licensing department of the French Blood Establishment (EFS). From 2010 to 2015, she managed the IP issues of the EFS, the strategy for patent licensing, the negotiation of industrial partnership agreements. Prior to joining the EFS, she was the director of the TTO of the University Paris Diderot-Paris 7 from 2004 to mid-2010. She has negotiated with success more than 40 license agreements, which have generated substantial revenues, she has promoted the creation of more than 20 start-up companies. Dr. Laurence Le Texier is also a member of the board of the Licensing Executives Society France and also of the Blood Vessels Institute. Prior to working on patent and technology transfer issues, Dr. Le Texier was a scientist and spent 12 years in drug discovery R&D in pharmaceutical companies (Innothera ; Ipsen-IHB) and in a biotech company spin-off of the Scripps Research Institute in San Diego (AMSI, CA, US) involved in bioprocesses for fine chemicals synthesis.
