University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH), so – called “Vietnam-France University”, is a unique international public university in Hanoi established in 2009 under the Intergovernmental Agreement between Vietnam and France. As a new model public university, USTH is being built with funds from the Government of Viet Nam and a strong support from the French Government, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), Asian Development Bank and the Consortium of high-level universities and researching organizations of France.
100% USTH courses are given in English and the diploma is awarded following the Bologna Process (LMD: Bachelor-Master-PhD with the duration of 3-2-3 years respectively). This system is developed to allow a strong mobility of students through the scholarships and exchanging students programs inside Europe and in the world and it is now widely used in almost universities in Europe.
All courses in USTH are given by high-quality teaching staffs who are Professor and Doctors from top universities and research institutions of France and Vietnam.
The teaching program is strongly associated with research in the important fields of science to Vietnam. This close link between the research and teaching is in order to strengthen ties between universities and enterprises in the field of science and technology.
USTH is currently developing the laboratory system of international standards to respond the needs of research training for USTH’s researcher staff and students. The USTH teaching staff are not only lecturers but also researchers. They are the excellent researchers from prestigious organisations of Vietnam and France, namely: VAST, CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique – France), IRD (Institut de Recherche pour le Développement – France) and others French and International Universities. Up to now, USTH has had more than 40 publications in the international scientific magazine ISI.
